WCS Employed Contractor Academies

Wellness Counseling Services also offers a learning community for its clinical employees. It is our mission to help educate budding clinicians seeking licensure in the states of New York, New Jersey, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida. We have created a Psychotherapist Academy and a Supervisors Academy to best support our clinicians’ growth, develop competencies beyond their Master’s level knowledge, and to help them obtain more practical experience through a holistic and eclectic lens at these two levels.

WCS Psychotherapist Contractor Academy

Did you recently graduate with your Master’s in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Creative Arts Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling and looking to obtain your hours for clinical licensure? At Wellness Counseling Services, we can help make this dream a reality. Under the supervision of one of our supervisors, you will develop the practical skills and competencies to further your career as a clinician.

What to expect?

When you come on with us as a Psychotherapist Contractor, you are automatically eligible to partake in WCS Psychotherapist Contractor Academy and may attend our Deep Dive Psychotherapist Mastermind Sessions and Weekly Group Supervision during our designated weekly meeting time every Wednesday at 7 PM. You will be linked to a Clinical Supervisor in your respective state which you will meet with weekly; the week you start with your first client through our practice. The hours of individual and group supervision will count towards your hours needed for licensure. We can assist you in getting licensed in one or more of the following 5 States: New York, New Jersey, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida. We also provide a few self-paced trainings that can be completed virtually.

What will you learn?

Through experience and under the guidance of the supervisors and clinical director, you will learn about best practices, maintaining ethics out in the field, evidence-based practices tailored to clients’ particular needs, and will be mentored to help develop your own clinical niche.

Eligibility

Clinicians must possess a Masters level degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Creative Arts Therapy.
Clinicians must be interested in embracing an integrated social work model.
Clinicians must be eligible for an LMSW or limited permit in Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Creative Arts Therapy in New York, New Jersey, South Carolina, Georgia and/or Florida.
Clinicians must submit a cover letter that includes their therapeutic orientation.

Completion Criteria

Clinicians must complete state regulated clinical hours to sit for licensing exam
Clinicians must pass your respective state exam.
Clinicians must attend individual supervision weekly.
Clinicians must attend group supervisions weekly.

Are you a freshly fully licensed clinician looking to expand into a supervisory role? Fully licensed clinicians with limited to no supervisory experience may apply to our 1 year supervisors academy to develop their skills as a clinical supervisor.

What to expect?

When you come on with us as a Supervisor Contractor, you are automatically eligible to partake in WCS Supervisor Contractor Academy and may attend our Deep Dive Psychotherapist Mastermind Sessions, Weekly Group Psychotherapist Supervision during our designated weekly meeting time every Wednesday at 7 PM and our Deep Dive Clinical Supervisor Mastermind Sessions and Weekly Supervisors Meeting during our designated weekly meeting time every Wednesday at 8 PM. You may be linked to up to 5 or more Clinical Supervisees in your respective state(s) which you will meet with weekly when they start with their first client through our practice. The hours of individual and group supervision will count towards your supervisees hours needed for licensure. We also provide a few self-paced trainings that can be completed virtually for both psychotherapists and supervisors.

What will you learn?

Through experience and under the guidance of more experienced supervisors and the clinical director, you will learn about an integrated supervisory model, broaching countertransference with your supervisees, developing best practices, maintaining ethics out in the field, evidence-based practices tailored to supervisees’ particular needs, and will be mentored to help develop your own supervisory style.

Eligibility

Prospective supervisors must possess a clinical license in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Creative Arts Therapy currently in New York, New Jersey, South Carolina, Georgia or Florida and depending on the state may need an additional Supervisors Designation License.
Prospective supervisors must have an interest in using an integrated supervisory model.
Prospective supervisors must submit a cover letter that includes their therapeutic orientation.
